Feverish typing could be heard through Kenzie's open office door. That and papers shuffling, drawers opening and closing, and underneath all of that was music. Of course other office workers didn't really appreciate her leaving her door open and all the noise, but it didn't matter. It was after office hours anyway. It was around six pm, normal for Kenz on a Wednesday night. She never worked normal hours. She didn't really need to because she was basically the boss of herself. And she hated mornings so one would rarely find her up before ten, especially if she had been drinking the night before. Hangovers killed her motivation to work. How was she supposed to go through a whole day starting at eight in the morning with a pounding headache and no will to even be awake? She couldn't do that. She could stop drinking so much but then again, what nights didn't she drink? She couldn't simply pick and choose different nights. It didn't work that way. She was an alcoholic after all and who didn't know it? She drank all the time. She was drinking now actually.
A glass of wine sat beside the half empty bottle. Kenzie would drink anything. Wine, beer, liquor, whisky. You name and Kenz would drink it down. She had been drinking since she was fifteen and she could pretty much out drink any guy she knew. The best part was that it was legal now and she could drink whatever she wanted whenever she wanted. Well, she did that before but now she didn't have to worry about getting any more underages. She had always worried those would ruin her chances with jobs and stuff in the future, but looks like it really didn't matter in this industry. After all, look at what everyone else did around here. Half of the people were on drugs. Drugs. Something she wasn't exactly happy to be around. She hated that shit. She had good reason too. Only Noah really knew her reasoning so some people thought her to be a bit of a bitch when it came down to it. She hadn't exactly meant to tell him. But when he had his episode and almost skipped out of country, it had slipped out out of worry. He understood then and stopped bringing drugs up around her. Other than that, she didn't need anyone else's approval. That whole mentality went down the drain with the death of her mom. Her brothers had tried to straighten her out multiple times. Once they realized Kenz was going to do what she wanted, they simply sat back and let her do her own thing all while stepping into protect her when she needed it. They were her best friends but once again, she didn't need anyone's approval. Even now with Noah knowing it was a bit strange. He didn't bring it up though, which was wonderful. She didn't want to talk about it ever.
Kenzie pressed her finger on the backspace key and held it there as she picked up her glass of wine and took a sip. Once a whole paragraph disappeared, set picked up her finger and set her glass down. She was doing five million things at once. She was reorganizing and trying to get rid of unneeded things. She was also trying to schedule the band time to shoot a music video. It would be easier if she didn't have to work it in around the tour and their shows. Not to mention she had to work around the band member’s personal time. Sshe had to make sure Noah wouldn't be high as a kite the day they were shooting. She also had to worry about Holli being drunker than Kenzie herself, Orian being late, and Winter being pregnant and sick. Winter still surprised her but she was there for the girl. The drummer was like her little sister and she was going to help her out with the baby as much as she could. It was just hell to work around all of their schedules. It was almost impossible and frustrating and it only caused her to drink more so she would relax. She groaned as she leaned back in her chair, running her hands through her natural blonde hair. She played with the ring in her nose slightly before she decided she was taking a break. She grabbed her glass and the bottle of wine. She looked at the two before shrugging and simply drinking straight out of the bottle. She set the glass back on her desk and held the bottle with one hand, leaning her head into the other that was propped up by her elbow on the arm of the chair.
Kenzie looked over her desk. It was a mess and she wrinkled her nose at it. She hated messes. She was ready to call it quits for the day, but she would have to clean up first. She wasn't ready to do that yet, so instead she sat there and took another drink of her wine. She placed the bottle in between her legs for a moment and clicked around on her computer. Maybe she could find something to do tonight. Sure it was a week day, but that meant little to her. She needed Kenzie time. She had been doing a lot for everyone else including dealing with Noah's little girlfriend because apparently Noah cheated on her or something? Kenzie wasn't sure, all she knew was that Liberty marched in demanding to know where Noah was and Kenz hadn't been able to give her that answer. It was a headache but what wasn't anymore? Yes, she could really go for some time to herself. She could finish up her work tomorrow. One thing she couldn't leave for tomorrow though was the mess her desk was in. Mess bothered her and if she had to come in to it tomorrow, she would be in a grumpy mood all day. That wasn't something she wanted to do. She sighed as she put the bottle to her lips and took another swig of it before licking her lips absentmindedly. Putting the bottle down on an empty spot on her desk, she stood and began organizing things.
