you're sweet, just like the sun -------------------but what happens when the sun don't stay?
stella normally did not hang out at the park. she actually avoided it. she wasn't really a nature person by any means. but, she figured, hey, what could it hurt? it seemed like it could be a good place to go to .. you know, think and stuff. what did she have to think about? a lot, really. as she walked towards the park from the label's ... main building, she figured that's what it's called, she thought. she wondered just how exactly her brother would react if she told him what exactly had been on her mind for the past few days. that she had seriously considered asking out travis bailey. she was sure he would either; flip shit on her, or flip shit on travis. she didn't want either of those to happen. so. thus. she kept her mouth shut like she normally would have. but hey, she figured she could do something about it. she loved orion, she really did. but. sometimes she needed to do things for herself and not for him... wow when did she start getting so philosophical?
sighing, she shoved her hands into the pockets of the purple skinny jeans she'd bought that day she'd gone shopping with noah. she'd even paired it with the same shirt she'd bought to, the 30 seconds to mars one. noah would have been so proud of her to wear jeans that were tight as anything. laughing at the thought, she walked down the streets, messing around on her ipod, trying to find a song. she was having music adhd that day. she'd listened to the songs for only a few seconds before she got bored and changed the song. it seemed she could not decide on what song to play. sighing, she gave up, leaving it on the silence by mayday parade. she really could not decide. this was rather sad.
she weaved her way through the crowd that was going towards... well whatever destination they were headed towards. saturdays were often busy days. stella should have really known better than to head out, on foot, towards the park. a good part of los angeles walked towards most of their destination in the city, she should have seen this coming. she normally was smart enough to realize that if she ventured out that day it would have taken her near a good hour to reach the park from the label. but thankfully, being short had its perks. ducking through people and sidestepping, she felt like she was doing some complicated waltz as she weaved in and out. pretty soon she managed to land herself in a clear portion of the sidewalk. and thankfully, it was only ten more minutes until she hit the park. why did people have to walk everywhere? people could afford cars, she thought somewhat bitterly as she walked. she had her license, she just had no money at the moment to buy a car. her parents had offered, yes, but she didn't want to constantly ask them for money. she liked being independent, so she was going to have to save up her money. or try to. being a stylist was sometimes a curse.
finally, she was close to the park. fast walking across the street towards the park, she slowed down as she reached the arch that signalled the entrance of the park. thankfully, not many people were actually there. she could grab a bench without having to race anyone for it. walking along the path, she didn't look up for quite some time, but instead glanced out of the corners of her eyes to figure out which benches were not taken. spotting one about halfway through the park, she crashed onto it, letting out a sigh. crossing her legs, she pulled her iPhone out, checking the time. it was nearing noon. no wonder it was so hot already. she had picked an awful time. making a face, she pulled her legs underneath her so she was sitting indian style on the bench. messing around on her phone, she tried to figure out what to do.
she found something. accidentally clicking on her files, she saw the last few pictures she'd taken on her phone. one of them was from the seduction by design concert she'd gone to, the one she'd gotten with travis. staring at it for a minute, she sighed, quickly getting out of her files and goign towards her text messages. she quickly typed him a message: hey, do you wanna meet up at the park? :] hitting send, she stared at the black screen of her phone, wondering what exactly she was going to say. she would never ask someone out; she failed at that, quite literally. she had tried to ask out her last boyfriend. she'd avoided him for three weeks straight after she tried talking to him and she managed to give him gibberish. she hadn't forgotten that at all, no sir. so was she really going to wait for him to say something? and if he didn't like her then what then? oh dear god, she was confusing herself. sighing once more, she leaned back against the bench, her head tilted up to star up at the tree branches that were above her head.

--- i'll be there when you close your eyes ,. ( HOLD YOU TIGHT, SAY GOODNIGHT ) travis liked stella. he couldn't explain to you why. he couldn't explain about how they'd gone from him just speaking to her to piss her brother and noah off, to actually being friends. he couldn't explain how he felt happy whenever he was around her, and how he was actually making plans with her because he wanted to see her... nothing else, nothing more, he just wanted to see her. he had so much fun with her as well. how could someone so awesome be related to such a dick like orian? seriously, he didn't get how it worked, stella must've gotten the good genes. she was really good looking as well, he had to admit. she really was quite attractive, and i he was willing to admit it to himself, then yeah, he liked her more than he should. he liked her more than any person should feel for the person they'd only gotten to know to piss off winter pursuit. although, it had ended up with stella not actually telling anyone when she went top hang with travis, sot hat totally went out the window.. but it didn't matter by that time. travis really liked her. way more than he should. so much that it was laughable in fact.. the fact that he ended up daydreaming and actually thinking about stupid, stupid things like the picture on orian's face if they were going out. it was ridiculous things like that, and more. and yet he still hung out with her, even though he should just get over her, and move on, and find someone else. as much as he told himself this, it never happened, and he knew it never would.
he didn't really have much planned for the day. he just decided he was going to chill out in his apartment, listening to slipknot all day and maybe watching some random films on the tv. he had decided this whilst still laying in bed and shielding his face from the sun lazily with one hand, not really wanting to get out of bed. the day was pretty much nearly half over already, it would just about be twelve by the time he managed to drag himself out of bed and actually get ready. it didn't really bother him. some people might be unhappy that they'd waste half a day in bed, but not him. he'd been up to around one in the morning anyway, partying with his friends, so it's not like he'd been in his bed over half of the day. groaning slightly, he decided it would probably be a good idea to get out of bed, and yanno, do something productive, when his phone blasted with music. "'shiiiit,' he mumbled after collecting himself, nearly slipping out of bed in alarm. running a hand through his hair, he grabbed his blackberry from off his bedside cabinet and smiled slightly a she saw it was a txt from stella. opening it up, he scratched the bakc of his neck as he read the text, before replying. sure, sounds grand [: just let me. yanno. get dressed. =P. well, that was as good as incentive for getting out of bed as he was ever going to get, he guessed. so he clambered out of bed, freeing himself from the duvet and heading towards the bathroom.
he really wasn't sure why, he mused to himself as he got into the shower and let the warm water cascade over him, but stella made him a nicer person. not really a better person by any means, at least, he didn't think so, but she made him nicer... only really to her though, so it didn't make much of a difference. he was still pretty much a jerk to everyone else. some people tolerated it, some people thought it was sexy as hell, and some people hated it - the latter of which were practically dead to him, mostly. there was no worthwhile people who hated him anyway. it'd be interesting if someone interesting hated him, but nooo, he was stuck with the winter pursuit crew and a few other teenyboppers. it bugged him, really. he didn't even have anyone interesting to hate, just lame ass people who tried to hard... and failed anyway. really, what was the point in trying if you were just going to fail as badly as that? if he'd met them before, he could've told them to just not bother, he would've been a nice person and let them down nicely that they sucked ass big time. it would've been his amazing deed of the year or something. nodding to himself, he stopped the water and got out of the shower.
drying his hair quickly with a towel, he put his straighteners on before walking back into his bedroom nd looking through his closet for something decent to wear. he needed new clothes, badly, he thought to himself. it wasn't that his clothes looked bad.. it just would've helped if he'd had something new to wear. hah. he ended up pulling out a pair of faded black skinny jeans and a black and grey striped tshirt, before pulling them on and checking himself in the mirror. he looked so vain staring in the mirror like that, it made him laugh. he walked back into the bathroom in front of the bigger mirror on his wall, and carefully straightened his hair. it didn't look terribly when it wasn’t straightened, it just kinked in odd places, and after he'd been asleep all this time, it stuck up at the back really weirdly. once he'd sorted it all out, he checked himself once more in the mirror because he didn't want to look like a complete mess when he met stella, before pulling on some socks and shoes, grabbing his blackberry and walking out of his apartment. fucking hell it was hot, he thought to himself, shielding his eyes with his hands as he walked towards the park.
he didn't usually hang out at the park. he wasn't quite sure why, it just wasn't quite his scene. he wasn't some tree hugger and there just never seemed to be any point. and the benches were really uncomfortable. so, altogether, he wasn't really suited for the park. but stella was there, and if so, then he guessed he could somehow manage to make himself fit into the park. somehow. after about ten minutes of walking, because really, he preferred walking to using his car, whatever you might think, he ended up at the park. it had dimmed down just a bit so he took his hand from where it was shielding his eyes, and opened the latch on the gate, walking in as it swung open. he looked around, before noticing stella sitting indian-style on the bench, and walking over to her, smiling at her as he sat down beside her. "'hey stell,' he said with a grin, inching a bit closer to her. "'so, what did you have in mind for us to do today? or do you just enjoy my company so much you called me out here for no reason?' he teased. he seemed to lighten up a lot around stella as well. this is why he should hang around her more, he told himself. any reason, right?
