I'LL DANCE TILL THE RAIN COMES DOWN. if she closed her eyes and listened, the roar of the crowd could still be heard ringing through her ears, making her heart beat fast as she smiled softly, imagining how magical it must have felt to perform in front of hundreds of screaming fans, all wanting nothing more then to cheer you on as you played the songs they all knew the words to. a small smile pulled at the edges of her soft lips, and she then let herself fade from her day dream, only to find herself on an empty stage, the massive crowds already long gone from the long night filled with music and laughter. oh the pure joy that came with watching her brother and his friends perform for fans was almost overwhelming. she was so proud of him, for everything he had been through, all the obstacles he had overcome, all the struggles he faced - some that did and didn't include his darling daughter dayna - and the fact that here he was, living his dream in front of countless people. his story was just so..inspiring to her. and she was - as she had always been - proud to call him her big brother.
her light teal eyes scanned the huge stadium, just barely visible in the dim lights that still illuminated the stage that she found herself centered in, a small, amused grin on her face. as much as she was with the band, she didn't really get to be on stage all that much. which of course; she didn't really mind, considering she was incredibly shy and therefore possible to get stage fright. but she felt no fear as she stood there, her hands loose at her sides and her chin lifted high as she looked around, making sure the coast was clear. once she was sure no one was around, she felt her hands slowly and gracefully make their way up, outstretching as her legs started moving, carrying her around as if she were flying. dancing had always been a part of her; she grew up dancing, and she knew that there was no way she would ever left that part of her fade away. ballet was what had kept her sane those years she had been separated from her brother and parents. it was her second lifeline. it was one of the few things she truly excelled at, and even she knew it. dancing just came easily to her, as she was a fluid person and moved with such grace it was as if she was born to dance. in all honesty, if someone were to ask her what she had been born to do, she would say dance. without any question or hesitation.
and she let herself go; dancing like she loved to - on stage and everything. just minus the crowd. which - to her - was better. no one to hold expectations, no one to judge, just her and her body moving in the ways it had been for years. she could feel her heart pounding hard in her chest as she did move after move, probably looking somewhat professional as she perfected it with such elegance it was almost ridiculous. this was her element; this was something she could do better then almost anyone else. and now that she was doing it, she felt nothing less then invincible. as like always, she lost herself in the movements, and became oblivious to her surroundings, completely unaware that she was being watched. as much as she loved to dance, it wasn't something she wanted people to watch. it was a way she could express herself, not some kind of entertainment for others. it was almost sacred to her, but as she slowly started to feel an ache in her limbs, she slowed down, reality coming back all at once. her eyes scanned the back of the stage, and they landed on a too familiar shape, causing her to let out a nervous chuckle. "awh, come on kelley. you know i don't like it when you watch me dance." she said, walking over to her brother and wrapping her arms around him in an embrace before pulling away and backing up a few steps. "i know i really shouldn't be up here, but i was helping the clean up crew...and i just couldn't resist. i'm sorry." she apologized, biting her lip before looking down at the ground and then up at him again. "please dont' tell anyone about this.." she said, nodding her chin at the stage, meaning the little performance she had put on. if people learned about her hidden talent, people might think differently of her. and she didn't even want to risk that. not when everything had been going so well with her brother, danya, and herself.

AND I SWEAR WE'VE BEEN DOWN THIS ROAD
doing shows on a close to daily basis was something kelley loved. when he was a teenager being in a band hadn't been on his mind. he had lived the whole 'live life not giving a fuck' attitude. he had done drugs like no other, drank on a somewhat daily basis, and slept around as though the world would end the next day. once he had met dayna, he had calmed down some. he had seen that there was a lot more to life, and that sometimes what he did hadn't been the smartest thing to do at all. when he had his daughter, he knew he had to push all that into the past. she had to come first. so he dropped all of it. the drugs, the alcohol, the sex, everything. sure, dayna's death had sort of helped with that, but knowing that he was the sole person responsible in dayna's life now, he knew he needed to push all that away. he hadn't minded this lifestyle so much, but sometimes he felt as though he missed it. the feeling of not having to worry about anything, not having to take care of someone other than himself, the high he got at times, he missed it a lot. but not enough to go back to his old ways. at least he thought.
so, yeah. doing a band. that hadn't been a part of it. it was when garret had come to him one day saying he was bored and thought they should jam that kelley had even considered it. kelley had a good voice, he knew that. it was the one thing he got that his parents were proud of. they had gone around doing some small gigs until garret's best friend and ex girlfriend got a job at one of those local record labels and got them signed. now, they were performing almost every night at different venues, acoustic showings, whatever they got on their schedules. lacey would watch dayna, or take dayna along with her. after lacey was done making them look good she did nothing so she would watch dayna. kelley was thankful for that. if he didn't have anyone to watch dayna he would drop the band in a heartbeat. he couldn't stand to be away from his little girl any more than need be. but he was certain he would be miserable if he couldn't be with the band.
another person he was sure he would be miserable without was probably adelaine. when he was younger he never really expressed the love he had for his family. adelaine was the only one. he was always that typical protective older brother. whenever anyone looked at her funny, whenever any guy kelley didn't approve of even think about talk to her, kelley would be right there. he was rather scary then. now it was more like, he knew she was old enough to take care of herself but he still watched out for her no matter what. he loved his sister, even if he never openly shared that. well in the past. now he said that often enough to make it loud and clear. in fact, it was his sister he was looking for. he had been ready to head back to the apartment and thought that maybe adelaine would have wanted to come join him and dayna for dinner that night. or just him, as dayna had fallen asleep with lacey during the show. hmph. he had wandered around for quite a bit, trying to locate her. he had found himself a horde of fans that had been waiting for any of the band guys to come out to ambush them, and he had patiently signed autographs and taken a few pictures before he was nice enough to say he had to go find someone.
and he'd snuck inside kodak theatre, where they had just performed that night. he wandered for a bit, seeing some of his crew there. asking if they had seen his sister, they said they'd seen her last heading towards the stage. nodding his head in thanks, he jumped up onto the main stage, but stopped suddenly as he did find his sister, smiling slightly, he didn't interrupt her. he remembered how she had been enrolled in this dance schol for a majority of her school career. dancing was her thing, as singing was his. he always randomly caught her dancing, just like now; he knew she probably missed it. she was damn good at it too. he always told her that, and that she should have gone out for dance, instead of following him around. but he did think it was sweet she stuck around to be with them. he snapped out of his thoughts quickly as he heard her laugh nervously, smirking, he walked forward, his hands in the pockets of his skinny jeans. "well, it's not my fault everytime i wander around to find you, you're dancing." he met her halfway, and wrapped an arm around her shoulders as she gave him a hug. "oh, yeah, i'm sure your shoes cleaned the stage real nice." he said teasingly, staring down at her. god damn, she was a shortie. he glanced around for a minute, seeing that the arena was completely empty. though he loved seeing every seat filled with kids screaming up at them, he liked the silence at times too. turning back to her, he rolled his eyes. "serious, addie? what do you think i'm going to do, post a blog about how much of an amazing dancer my sister is? oh, maybe that's a good idea..." he said joking, wrapping his arm back around her shoulders. if she didn't anyone to know, he wouldn't be the one to blab it out to the world.
"so how'd we do tonight? did any of the guys finally mess up enough for us to kick them out?" he smirked joking, looking down at her. the guys were forever joking about how they would kick each other out of the band. they all had been threatened with it. garret, parker, kelley himself, riley, garret mostly though. benji was the one that rarely got told that too. he was a pretty badass guitarist, and he was the good one out of them all. he was like the voice of reason for the band. it was kind of handy to keep him around.

T H E Y F O L L O W M E A R O U N D ,
I'LL DANCE TILL THE RAIN COMES DOWN. dancing had always been apart of who adelaine was as a person. it was the easiest way to express herself, and it often helped her cope with the stressful life that she lived. her life didn't seem too difficult; after all, she just sold things with her brother's band's name on it, but all this time on tour - away from home - really killed her. she tried her hardest to hide it, but from time to time, she found herself so homesick she couldn't even pay attention to what was going around her. most people didn't seem to think anything of it, of course; seeing as she was so quiet. but then again, it wasn't too obvious when addy was upset. the only person who could really tell when she was upset was kelley. and as selfish as it may have seemed, she tended to avoid him when she was upset. which only worried him more, no doubt. but that's just how she was, and without her normal, stable life at home, she seemed to withdraw from a lot of what was going on around her. it wasn't like home life had been fantastic or anything, but she missed her friends, and most of all, her dancing. she tried to cut back - to leave it behind, in all sense - but as much as she tried, she often found herself on her feet, getting into the old routine she had grown up with. the majority of her life had been spent at a school for girls whom had known nothing but ballet. and when one left the only thing they knew how to do, it was a little overwhelming.
everything was so chaotic here. so..loud and crazy. people partied every night, drank until they passed out and hooked up with who ever they could get their hands on. and it scared adelaine. even though she was a legal adult, she didn't feel like one. as mature as she seemed, she still felt like a little girl who didn't belong here. but as long as her brother and danya were here, she would belong. they were her world now, and she wasn't about to leave them. even if every second away from home made her uncomfortable. addy was used to structure and order, and there was little to none found here at the moments between sleep tour. but she coped with it, dealing with it the only way she knew how. dancing. and as she danced her heart out on the empty kodak stage, she felt all of her stress melt away, setting her free. for those few minutes, she was untouchable. nothing could stop her, not even the ache for normality that burned in her heart. no, she was a free bird, and she was going to stop thinking and just keep moving. but like all good things, it came to an end, but for once, the ending of this good thing was replaced by another. kelley.
as she caught her breath, she couldn't get rid of the huge grin on her face. she'd nearly forgotten how much she adored her brother. and as he put his arm around her, she put her hand on his waist, laughing and smiling up at him. his comment made her frown a little, because she didn't realize how often she danced. in her mind, she had actually cut back a large amount, but before she could really think about it too much, she merely shrugged, "well, it's not my fault you creep on me all the time." she teased back, squeezing his side and letting out a small giggle before looking out at the stage and sighing. had she really been so into her dancing she didn't notice someone watching her? hmm. kelley's voice brought her out of her own thoughts and she chuckled a little at his sarcasm, "well then, i was glad to offer my services." she smirked offering that famous gaston sarcasm right back at him before then looking up at her monstrously tall brother. with a big teasing smile, she cocked her head to the side as if confused, "did i ever tell you you are a freak of nature?" she snickered before hugging him again, showing she was only kidding. she would never say anything like that to her brother to hurt him intentionally, and she wanted him to know that she was not serious whatsoever. yes, she was a cautious one, to say the least. his next comment made her feel a little better. after all, as much as she liked to dance, she really didn't want anyone to know about it. ballet wasn't exactly the coolest thing to do. especially not when you're brother was this big shot singer whom was probably one of the coolest people ever. but when he mentioned how she was an amazing dancer, she blushed and shook her head. "i'm not amazing.." she said quietly, more to herself then to him. but she was glad he seemed to drop it. she was getting self conscious just thinking about people knowing she could dance.
a small laugh escaped her lips as he asked about their performance that night. "i think you were all amazing. especially you.....and benji." she said, her blush coming back. okay, yeah. she totally admired benji. he was probably the cutest thing she had ever seen, but she knew she probably shouldn't take it any farther then they already had. eventhoughshereallywantedto. because, she wasn't ready for that kind of hurt again. especially if she was supposed to be strong for her brother and danya. "honestly, i think that, overall, you guys did really really well tonight. i mean, did you hear all those girls screaming about you?!" she laughed, remembering how crazy fan girls usually flocked to her brother like no other. she liked seeing him so well off, but at the same time, she knew that none of these fan girls would compete with his love, danya who had so sadly passed away during the birth of their child. danya was really something else, and there wasn't a moment addy didn't miss her terribly. especially when she had to look into the eyes of her daughter, who looked so much like her beautiful mother. all adelaine could do was be there for danya, just as danya's mother had been there for her. she was going to be the best aunt she could, partially because she adored the little girl, and partially because she knew danya would really appreciate it.

AND I SWEAR WE'VE BEEN DOWN THIS ROAD
he loved addie, he really did. even during his days of being one of those "wild children" as his parents had referred to him, he had always loved addie. he was forever watching out for her. it was just how he was. when her heart had been broken by that asshole derek kelley had spent most of his days with her to make sure she was okay. sure, he couldn't really do that anymore because of how busy he was, but at times like this whenever he caught her dancing, he took advantage of it. she loved dancing, he knew that. she'd been in that fancy dancing school for years. she had to love dancing, or else, what would have been the point? "hey, i am no creeper." he said, rolling his eyes at her choice of words to describe him. he watched her look around for a minute as he glanced at his phone to see what time it was. normally he would have been home by now. eh. lacey wouldn't mind keeping dayna to herself for a bit longer. hearing the words "freak of nature", he looked down at addie, quickly arranging his face so that a hurt look was on it. "hey, i resent that comment. it's not my fault i'm tall." he said in a whiny voice, but he laughed. he himself would call himself a freak of nature. he was. at twenty he was already almost six three, and he was pretty positive he was still growing. course, the fact that he was as thin as addie didn't help that at all. he tightened his hug around her a bit as she hugged him after her freak of nature comment. "you are lucky you're my sister. i don't normally let people get away with calling me a freak of nature." he said teasingly as he heard her say, rather quietly, that she wasn't amazing. rolling his eyes, he wrapped both arms around her in a hug. "you are. no arguing. all right good." he said without giving her a chance to say anything. he often did that.
"well thank you. yeah, benji was probably badass..." benji was probably the only band member kelley never joked about kicking about. mostly because benji was the most.. well you know. he was the most ... "innocent" one in the band. sure, they all took the mickey out of him for it constantly but it was all out of love. at least he assumed. hearing her talk about all the girls screaming about him, he laughed. "what, screaming that they wanted to get in bed with me and that they were in love with me... that's a good life, i would think." he said sarcastically. he loved his fans, he wasn't going to lie. he just thought it was funny how girls thought that just knowing who he was and signing along and knowing the words to all the songs and those random facts about him that he might or might not have mentioned in small interviews meant they were meant to be. sure, it was scary but he was definitely not complaning at all. hey, some of the old kelley was in that six foot two frame. not all of it had vanished.
"hm... i'm not sure if i want to head back to the buses yet. you wanna head out somewhere?" he asked idly as he glanced around the stage. he was in one of those moods where he just didn't feel like going home. he spent most of his time in his apartment. during the nights when the band had played, he would often try staying out a bit later than he needed to. thus often taking advantage of lacey babysitting dayna. he didn't often feel bad either. well that was a lie but he wasn't going to admit that. "i'm starvinggggg, yeesh." he said in one of those overdramatic voices that he rarely used. he was probably being influenced by riley, the damn bastard. he did that to him at times. as if to prove his point, his stomach growled right on cue, rather dramatically too. "see, i'm not lying. my stomach is empty, addy." he mumbled in a pathetic voice, trying his hand at putting a pathetic helpless look on his face. that really didn't do any good, he figured that out. he cracked a smile, laughing slightly.
feeling his phone go crazy in his pocket, he sighed, pulling it out of the pocket of his jeans. he glanced at the screen, seeing it was lacey. he had a pretty good feeling about what it was for, and sure enough, as he hit 'read', he saw that she was asking if she could have a sleepover with dayna. damn, she was popular. "i think dayna is more popular than me now. just this week she's had sleepovers with grace, lacey, and effie." he said, chuckling slightly. it was almost impossible not to love dayna. she was one hell of a happy two year old. she didn't act two either. some people thought she was older. about five, really. ha. he would have been old as fuck by then. "so. tonight is you and me it seems. or no, not seems. you're with me, kid." he grinned down at her teasingly. they really hadn't spent quality sibling time together in a long itme. mostly it was them hanging out after a show, or her coming over to nag kelley about how he needed to learn to cook and not depend on every single person out there in his life who knew how to cook. he might have to do that one day. hell, if garret could learn to make spaghetti, he could cook. ha. he'd have to thank lacey for accidentally sharing that one with him. kelley hadn't stopped taking the mickey out of him for that one. "so. you should decide what we do, little sister. as. i don't know where to go..." his voice went into an awkward tone as he scratched the back of his head at his failure at deciding a place to go. he really did. when he had dated dayna, he hadn't known where to take her at all. he'd asked all his females friends where they would have liked to go on an ideal "date" and it had taken him forever to figure it all out. he still rather failed.
