jackson wished his apartment was more cleaner. hen i came to rushing around, it would really help if everything was in it's proper place and not spread out on the floor just waiting for him to stub his toe on, or trip over it, or make him jump because he thinks it's alive or something. he should really clean his apartment more. or hire a maid or something. he doubted he had enough money, but it was worth a go. actually, no, that sounds kinda lazy. he'd remember to clean it later. when he got back from the recording studio. where he was currently supposed to be, if his lam hadn't actually failed the one time he needed to use it. he was supposed to be at the studio at eleven. it was now quarter past and he was in his boxers stumbling around his apartment trying to a, find a light switch, and b, find his clothes, so he could get out of here and to the batteries not included records before somebody shot him. aw, he was screwed. he really was screwed. he'd have to think of an excuse really quickly, as he blundered around the main room and finally slammed his hand against the light switch, blinking as the room as flooded with bright light that stung his sleepy eyes. he probably deserved it...how on earth had he actually managed to sleep in until eleven? he'd probably stayed up quite late talking to alaska on the phone, but that couldn't have gone much past one o'clock....right? maybe two at the most...dear god, he didn't even want to think about the phone bill at the moment. he instead made his way back though the much less threatening obstacles laid out on the floor and into the bathroom.
did he have time for a shower, or would that just be taking the piss? he decided it probably would be, and besides, he'd had one yesterday... probably. yup, one yesterday. so he didn't really need it. he filled the sink with warm water quickly, before grabbing the soap and washing himself, spraying himself with deodorant - no, before you ask, he did not spray himself in the eye and his eye didn't began to sting and water like hell, thank you very much - before wandering back into the bedroom. he should make the bed really, but he ignored the rumpled sheets, he was late after all, he didn't want to piss people off anymore. he rummaged through his closet, grabbing a pair of jeans that looked half decent, and a top and pulling them on without falling over, which was a great talent he was sure. people would be so jealous if they could see him now - but that would be kind of creepy. it kind of made him feel paranoid, even though nobody else was actually in his apartment, apart from his two dogs, who were both lazy sods and fast asleep as far as he could tell. but they were totally snuggly and really energetic at times and they'd probably make good guard dogs...but, it's okay, he wasn't that paranoid. they'd probably fall half asleep halfway through the nigh tand not wake up even if there was an earthquake or something anyway.
finally he managed to get out of the house - with shoes and a hoodie on, thankfully, and his phone tucked into his jean pocket. he trudged down the street, because he knew if he tried to walk fast he'd look like an idiot and would probably smack into somebody, anyway. he didn't quite want to be held back even more than he was already. as he walked, he pulled his phone out and checked the time. twenty five past. that wasn't too bad...right? actually, no, it had taken him ten minuets to get out of the house, maybe he should've hurried up. he probably should've texted kylie or someone too, so just to make sure he sent her quick text in case the band were starting to get annoyed, or whatever - they probably were already getting pretty pissed off, he was nearly half an hour later. aw shit i'm nearly there, promise, don't hate me or rip my head off, okay?! <3 jack. he'd stopped walking whilst he'd been texting as multi tasking would have just ended in disaster he was sure, especially on the busy streets of los angeles, so he tucked his phone away and began walking again, jogging across the street when the traffic started to slow down. some indignant people beeped their horns at him as he skidded along the pavement, forcing their cars to screech to a halt to avoid hitting him, but he wasn't all that focused on them. the studios were just around the corner after all, and he was actually kind of excited for the recording - who wouldn't be? it was his favourite place to be in the batteries not included studio.
finally he made it, a couple of minutes later. he slowed down to catch his breath again, exhaling slowly as he walked into the building, shoving his hands into his pockets and smiling at the girl in reception, waving at her as he walked over to her, lolling against the desk and smiling at her 'which studio are while you were out recording it? i totally forgot, i'm so bad.'
[/b] she smiled before pointing down the hallway and telling him studio four. he quickly thanked her before heading down the hall quickly, removing his hands from his jeans to run a hand quickly through his hair before he reached the studio, and peeked through the glass wall at them to make sure they didn't look too pissed off or impatient before opening the door and opening it easily. 'uh....surprise?' he tried with a grin, giving them a rendition of his jazz hands as walked in. 'no, i swear, i'm really sorry, my alarm bailed on me, i only woke up like...' his voice trailed off as he looked up at the clock 'fifteen minutes ago? i suck, i'm sorry, please don't make me grovel anymore, it's embarrassing,' he finished, skewering his mouth to the side.[/blockquote][/blockquote] - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - MUSIC PLAYING: SHOUT BY DISTURBED. tell myself it's all right b u t i t ' s n o t e n o u g h
kylie really didn't like waking up at eleven. hell, she didn't even like waking up at one in the afternoon. so. she definitely hated waking up before eleven to be at the recording studio by then. it was inhumane. course, if they wanted to stay signed, they would have to, you know actually record some songs, and... you know, maybe an ep, an album... those kinds of things. so of course, kylie had to set her alarm for ten at least, so she'd have an hour to get ready and head down there. it wasn't that far from her apartments to bni's headquarters, so. as she slammed her hand down on her alarm clock that morning, she immediately buried her head underneath her pillow and tried to get a few more minutes in. but once kylie was awake, it was hard to go back to sleep, you know? so. she got up and decided to take a shower. she had more than enough time. so, half an hour later, she was showered, dressed, and blow drying her hair. she didn't want to have her back be all wet from the water dripping from her hair. as she blow dried it, she plugged her iPod into her iHome to blast some music. when bon jovi's "we weren't born to follow" played, she started singing along, starting even dance along with it. ah, she was a dork.
it wa sonly when she looked at her digital clock and saw that it was ten forty five that she decided to head out. so, grabbing her keys and her wallet, she pulled her iPod out and took along too. the walk to the studio wasn't that long either, but she wanted music. so, continuing on her bon jovi music party, she listened to his songs all the way to the studio, adding in her own dance moves and whatnot. sure, she got the weirdest of looks from people walking on the streets, but so? kylie really wasn't the type of girl to care. so what if people saw a girl wearing a metro station shirt, dark blue skinny jeans, a grey hoodie, and brown and blond hair dancing and headbanging in the middle of the street? yeah, she didn't really care.
she pulled her phone out to text one of the guys telling them she was on her way. why not text jackson? he was probably either a. getting ready, b. on his way, or c. talking with alaska. so she didn't want to bother him, whichever one he was doing. as she climbed the stairs up, she wondered if he was talking with alaska. alaska was a pretty awesome girl; not many girlfriends would allow their boyfriend to kiss and flirt with their best friend/lead singer of their band on stage or anything. and surprisingly, alaska did not mind, and did not want to rip out kylie's hair. for that, kylie was extremely thankful. hoping the last few stairs, she looked at her texts to see which roon she was supposed to be in. seeing studio four, she grinned, quickening her pace. it was an awesome room, because it had it's own tv and couch in it, along with a Wii and rock band. for those times when they had to wait, were having muse problems, or just did not feel like working. opening the door, she saw some of the guys already there, grinning, she shouted a hello before diving onto the couch that no one was on yet. the others were playing guitar hero. watching for a bit, she decided to check out her texts, and the time.
so, turning over so that she was upside down on the couch, she pulled her phone out. seeing that it was eleven fifteen, she wondered. "is jackson here yet?" she asked to the room at large. when she got no verbal response but got a few shakes of the head. hm... she decided to wait and text him in a bit if he still hadn't showed up. with her headphones still in her ears, she decided to listen to some of the summer set's songs as she waited. her head still hanging upside down, she started shouting stuff at the guys, trying to get them to get their game on. for being guitarists, they kind of sucked at the game. finally, she got bored and went back to her phone. twas eleven thirty, and stupid jackson wasn't there yet. she was about to text him when, as she hit the new message button, she got a notification saying jackson sent her a text. "whoa! i'm psychic! she said, though no one in the room was paying attention anymore; guitar hero was that addicting. reading his text, she laughing as she replied. "hurry up! i'm bored <3" mr. tall and tree-like must have been talking to alaska that late at night again. sighing and shaking her head, she stretched out, hitting her head for a second on the ground. making a pained face, she sat up so that she was lying straight across the couch. time for games. . .
she was about to give up on jackson when, low and behold, mr. tall and tree-like walked through the door. sitting up, she raised an eyebrow at him, as though silently telling him to explain himself. hm.. she must have been good with faces, as he started explaining. she looked at the guys, who paid some attention to his story before turning back to guitar hero. she turned herself back to jackson as he finished off. she got a thoughtful look on her face as she turned herself around so that her head was, once again, upside down and hanging over the edge of the couch. the guys had already gone back to chilling with guitar hero for their remaining minutes of freedom. "i don't know, i think you need to grovel more...." she said thoughtfully, nodding as she looked at her phone, pretending to be more interested in that than him. but she looked up a minute later, smiling and motioning for him to come on over. she awkwardly patted the spot next to her, as upside down kylie really had no sense of direction. "come on, we have a few minutes before we start so sit your butt down!"

despite the fact that jackson was horrible at having to get to places on time, he really did like recording. sure, it was his job, and most people hate their jobs - take his parents for example, who both slaved away at boring nine to five jobs and were incredibly relieved when they finally got home for the day - but, hey, you couldn't get a much better job than his, and making music for a living was really a dream come true. sure, the whole having to wake up before eleven thing wasn't the greatest and it sure as hell hadn't gone the way he'd planned it, but it was okay. he was here now, and he wasn't horrible late, and the rest of the band were busy pretty much failing on guitar hero at the moment. seriously? c'mon, they really sucked. jack was sure is little cousin could get a higher score on the game than them. for people who played music for a living, you would think they were going to be pretty good on the game, but hey, perhaps not? obviously he was completely wrong, duh. he looked around the room as he explained why he was late, his hands digging into his pockets as the rest of the guys looked at him for a few second before turning back to their ever important game. he guessed they couldn't afford to miss much of it, so he supposed he'd forgive them for not focusing too much on his incredible story telling. besides, he had kylie. kylie was obviously listening, enrapt by his amazingly interesting story.
he turned to her as she began to speak and pouted slightly as she said he should grovel more. 'nooooo, no, no,' he said, shaking his head and still frowning down at her as if they were both serious. even though she had sounded pretty serious, he was her best friend, he could tell - and hey, he didn't exactly want to get down on his hands and knees and beg, now did he? so he was hoping she was kidding. 'i don't like that idea. it's silly. you're silly,' he added solemnly, nodding at her. he hadn't even noticed she was sitting upside down on the sofa. he was pretty much used to it though. he just kind of hoped they weren't going to try out some new thing of playing their instruments upside down. now, that would suck. it'd be cool, if they could actually master it, which was doubtful. and it probably wouldn't sound any different, or, at least it'd sound worse because he was sure he'd mess up more than a few chords whilst sitting upside down. he watched for a few more seconds whilst he waited for her to carry on speaking, fidgeting and shuffling from foot to foot. it could've been worse. he could've been super, super late and came in after they had started recording. he really should go and buy a new alarm after their recording session ended. or at least, work out why his one had fucked up. knowing him, he'd just forgot to set it, most probably. by the time he'd finally brought himself to say goodbye to alaska, he'd been so sleepy he'd just crawled into bed. yeah, that was probably the reason. he had a horrible memory, it was true, but he'd been certain he'd set that alarm... before he'd actually thought about it for more than a passing second whilst he blamed the alarm clock. still. he should really work on improving his memory. he hadn't forgotten anything drastic just yet, but it was only a matter of time.
he grinned as kylie spoke again, walking over in two long strides and flopping down beside her, angling his head to the side so he could get a good look of her face. he'd ask why she was sitting upside down, but some things were better left unasked. he ran a hand though his hair, sitting back in the couch for a few seconds and watching the guys play the wii. 'i think we should fire them, and get better musicians,' he said, nodding at kylie with a slight smile 'they kind of suck eggs. they'll kick up a huge fuss but obviously we'll win and they'll have to practice twenty three hours a day so they can reach our level of... musicianship?' he raised an eyebrow slightly at his last word, because he wasn't sure whether it even was a word. oh well. it was now. he'd have to notify the dictionary companies. or, at least, get all of while you were out's fans to start using the word, so, y'know, eventually it'd spread over the world and eventually the dictionary companies would have no choice but to add it into the dictionary. that sounded far easier.. well, for him at least. hah. he wasn't always so lazy. he was just still kind of sleepy now, seeing as he'd been asleep around half an hour ago. he stifled a yawn with his fist as he tugged at kylie, at the same time moaning 'you neeeed to sit up, i want to give you a hug! but you're all... not upright,' he said finally, with another nod. he was so technical. it was weird, he read a lot, so he pretty much had quite a huge vocabulary, if he did say so himself, but when he actually needed to use it... it seemed to just abandon him. his brain didn't function very well when he was relying on it. he was horrible in exams. sure, when he'd been at school, he was pretty smart and he knew most of the answers... but shove him into an exam hall and it all just drained away.
he ran a hand through his hair once again. he hadn't had time to do much to it, but brush it, so he just kind of hung in his eyes. it was pretty annoying. he probably needed a haircut, before his hair covered his eyes completely. he always got nervous when he let someone he didn't know near his hair though, because, hey, he liked his hair, and if they became distracted for a second whilst they were still snipping, they could pretty much snip it all off. and it'd be humiliating, and he'd probably have to wear a hat before his lopsided hair evened itself out. or worse, he'd and up having to shave it off... oh, god, he didn't even want to think about that. his hair could stand growing a few more inches before it became too unbearable. 'so, how long do we have before we start,' he pulled a face jokingly ' god forbid, working? cause i bet i can kick your ass on guitar hero a few times before we really have to start working,' he teased. 'i mean, i could play one of them, but they're maybe a little too easy. but shh. don't tell them i said that,' he added, mock whispering, his eyes wide as he looked at her.

tell myself it's all right b u t i t ' s n o t e n o u g h
she frowned at him, wondering if he would really grovel. she was pretty sure she would just burst out laughing if he got down on his hands and knees and decided to grovel. she was pretty certain she would pull her phone out and try to get that moment on video. sadly though, he did not. instead he decided to tell her that it was a silly idea. "it so is not a silly idea. i think it's a brilliant idea." she said in her best insulted voice, though it didn't work out too well, she was certain. indeed it sounded rather not convincing in her head.
"and i am not silly." she said in her mock offended voice as she crossed her arms. that didn't work out too well; as kylie tried to cross her arms, it felt very awkward, seeing as she was upside. she noted how jackson hadn't commented her being upside down. either he hadn't noticed, or he was just used to her being weird like that. it was more than likely the first one, because jackson never really noticed anything. that was just how he was. often it was entertaining how he never noticed much. but hey, he knew kylie. she was forever doing awkward stuff like that. he was just extremely used to it. watching as he crossed the room in pretty much one giant step, she felt his weight on the couch, she lifted her head slightly to look at him. it actually kind of hurt to do that. but she didn't sit up. she liked the view from here. it was looking pretty good. she looked back at the band, laughing slightly at what he said.
"yeah, i agree. i mean, they don't even look badass enough to be in our band." she said in a rather carrying voice. she was sure that the guys had probably heard, either they had decided not to say anything, or they were that good at ignoring her. either way, she turned back to jackson, listening. "musicianship? yes, our level of musicianship, which is like, the top, so obviously, they won't be able to get to it." she agreed, nodding her head. she was sure the guys knew they were talking about then. they were probably just too absorbed in their game to care.
"come on, khris! you're on bass too! you can so do better than that!" she shouted suddenly in their direction, just deciding to mock khris for the hell of it. she did that to him often. he never really said anything against it either. he probably would have flipped her off if playing the bass hadn't required two hands.
"i have to sit up?" she said in a whining voice as she turned to jackson. grumbling incoherently for a second, she swung her feet around until they were laying across his lap, and she pulled herself upright until she was sitting like a normal human, her feet sticking in the air past the couch. "there i'm upright." she said begrudgingly. wrapping his arms around his waist, the easiest part she could reach without stretching any more than she needed to. she was honestly in a rather lazy mood. hence why she was hanging upside down off the couch. "happy now?" she said in a mock disappointed voice, but she knew the fact that she was grinning might give away the fact that she wasn't completely angry that she had to leave her position. she looked up at him as he ran a hand through his hair, and she reached up, trying to see if she could mess it up.
"i think you should get some kind of mullet thing going onw ith your hair. bring that back. you know that was a hot style." she said teasingly as she turned back to the guys, watching the screen. give the guys real instruments, they were great. give them rockband, they sucked more than her fourth grade cousin.
"no way! i can totally beat you. i beat you that one time, remember?" she said, though she wasn't certain she'd beaten him at all. but hey, if he bought that then who was she to deny it and tell the truth? "i know, working. it sucks. i mean, i'd much rather be walking the streets right now instead of recording a new song." she sighed dramatically as she leaned against him, yawning slightly. she was tired again, yes. she'd been up rather early, so it was expected. looking up at him, she bought a finger up to her lips, furtively glancing back at the guys before whispering dramatically. "your secret's safe with me." she even added an overdramatic wink for emphasis. "but what can they do if they hear you? glare at you and play even worse?" she said quietly, glancing at the guys to make sure they weren't secretly listening in on jackson and kylie dissing them. they were both dorks, she'd admit it. that was how they became best friends.
sure, he was way smarter than her, and probably more mature, but somehow they managed to bring out the stupid sides of each other, even though kylie was stupid in general. with jackson it was worse because he encouraged it, whether he meant to encourage it or not. he often didn't, but somehow he just made her act stupider than she normally did. and that in itself should not have been allowed.
