Caleb rested back on his seat, his feet up on the table to the side of him a bit with his favourite acoustic guitar rested against his chest. He was grinning whilst talking to the Violet Sunday merchandise people because it was a good day. The sun was shining and Caleb had nothing really pressing on his mind. Winter seemed to be getting a bit calmer finally at the thought of them having a child together which was good because truthfully Caleb was super stocked. Even if it was still a little young and unexpected to have a child at nineteen, Caleb had always wanted his own kid and the fact it happened to be with the love of his life was only more perfect then when he first heard the news. Understandably, he hadn't found out in the best way online in the chat but still, it was happening and he wouldn't change that for the world now. Caleb had ended up at the merch tent as he'd panicked at the weird sounds coming from the bus and legged it, guitar in hand in fear of hearing his two best friends doing the dirty. Sure, he didn't mind that they did but it wasn't particularly something he wanted to hear... nor did he want his favourite guitar to hear it either. He wasn't even sure where about in the world they were right now as things had zoomed past but nevertheless, Caleb wasn't too good at keeping track of things like that. He just went where people told him to.
"Will you play something? I mean, you know, if you want to..." Caleb looked forward at one young lady clutching her newest merch bag and he smiled, genuinely. "Sure... is there anything in particular?" He knew the fans had favourites, heck who didn't, but he really didn't want to attempt to sing, no, that was Mason and Sav's job. He could sing, a little, but he didn't nearly have the confidence for it. His guitar was a different matter. Caleb had been playing since he could hold one and had stopped taking lessons at the age of thirteen to teach himself because none of the teachers could really keep up. It was the one thing he felt he could naturally do which was why being in a band, as well as being with his best friends and girlfriend, meant that he honestly had the perfect job in the world. Caleb chewed his lip in thought as the young girl shook her head and a few other people stood near her, towering over Caleb somewhat. "Hmm." Caleb considered for a moment and brought his legs down off the table to sit straighter and adjusted his guitar on his lap, altering the strings slightly. "Right, I want to see if you recognise this one." He was almost certain they would, after all, it had gotten to number one. Caleb had even been in the studio when it was being recorded to help give the woman some extra riffs in the background. Hell, he wasn't complaining. It had gotten to the top of the charts and Caleb got a lovely cheque from it. "Alright?" Caleb begun the first notes to the song and smiled when one of the fans squealed slightly. Of course, most teenage girls would recognise a Lady GaGa song after all.
It was acoustic though so he had to try and figure out the arrangement in his head as he went along, the notes and chords slightly different to that on an electric. Caleb always thought the acoustic guitar was so much better, far more real and personal then some electric equipment and the sound was superior also. Chewing his lip, Caleb concentrated on the chords and the small smack of his guitar to get the percussion of the song right. Certainly, he was thinking in terms of his audience at the merch stand being mostly female and even if he would much prefer to do a song from Brand New or Incubus, it probably wouldn't hold their attention like a classic pop record would. Finishing the song, Caleb glanced up with a small smile to the young girl to see if she liked it but his eyes widened slightly. Suddenly, a far larger audience were watching and had their cameras pointing right at his face. Keeping his happy face on as they wooped, Caleb willed his cheeks not to blush too hard. Wow, this was embarrassing and just slightly scary. What did he do? It was always Mason or Sav who talked on stage, unless of course it was the rare occasion where he introduced something. It wasn't that he was mute or nervous to play in front of people, he wouldn't be very good at his job if that was the case. It was simply all the attention focused solely on him like now and there was no Mason to catch him if he screwed up his words.
"Erm." Caleb said lamely as they looked at him with great expectation in their eyes and he stood, clutching his guitar close to him. As he stood he saw the size of the crowd that had gathered and lost count but could hazard a guess at about 30 people crowded around the small desk. Today was seriously out to get him apparently. "Wow... news spreads then." Caleb laughed lightly and slightly more at ease as the crowd chuckled also. "Do you... uh, want another song?" Caleb glanced to his left at the merch people who were all laughing at the cheers coming from the crowd. "This is ridiculous." Caleb said joking to them and they nodded and grinned before gesturing to the people in front of him. Caleb leaned forward and let his guitar hang from its strap around his body so he could sign the paper one of them was thrusting out to him, partly to please them but also to give him time to think what to do. "Right." Shit, Caleb was bad at this stuff. He just needed more confidence. The mantra of just play the guitar was going on in his head, that was what he was comfortable doing and these people didn't expect him to sing. Surely? No, they didn't. He wasn't going to anyway. Caleb decided on a slightly better, more difficult one and begun the opening chords to the next song , smiling again when he heard woops as the first recognisable tune to Billie Jean came up. Again, his own arrangement with his own special flair in it. Just take the moment as it came, he didn't know what the hell could happen next after all.
