TAKE A BREATH TAKE IT DEEP CALM YOURSELF HE SAYS TO ME IF YOU PLAY YOU PLAY FOR KEEPS TAKE THE GUN AND COUNT TO THREE • • •& i'm sweating now moving slow no time to think my turn to go AND YOU CAN SEE MY HEART BEATING YOU CAN SEE IT THROUGH MY CHEST Caleb used the oven gloves to push the lasagne plate into the middle of the pre heated oven, his face wincing at the heat after having just opened the door. Now he understood why certain girls didn't cook... cos they're face would melt off. Still, it wasn't like he would ever say that out loud. Caleb had spent a long time preparing the pasta dish, way longer then usual even cos he wanted to get it just perfect for Winter. Yes, it was a date. He wasn't going to deny it. He just kinda hoped that she saw it as that as well and not just friends. That would seriously suck for what he wanted to ask her later on. Caleb had managed to score the apartment for a night on his own whilst Mason took Savannah out somewhere. He'd thanked his best friend because he'd only just come back and Caleb hated the thought that he was kicking his bestie out so soon but apparently Mason had plans already with his re-aquainted girlfriend so Caleb could at least take advantage of it for once. And it certainly wasn't for guilty thoughts. Nope, quite the opposite. Caleb had told Winter ages ago how he wanted to cook for her one night and this seemed like the perfect moment for him to, as well as deal with the small matter of seeing if she would like to become his girlfriend. He honestly doubted she would say yes, after all, Caleb had no confidence in himself what so ever. But then, when they had gone to dinner the other night, he'd felt like they'd had the best time ever. He'd had tears in his eyes from laughing so much and that had been without any alcohol what so ever. Everyone so far had commented on how different the two of them were, and yet they got along like a house on fire. Explanation? Caleb didn't know, but he did know that Winter was the most beautiful woman he'd ever seen in his life and her personality was fantastic as well. Thinking about it made his stomach do a small flip. What if she actually said 'yes'.... No, Caleb couldn't start hoping. He'd only be left bitterly disappointed. Which really begged the question, why was he doing it? Well, it was now or never, plus Mason knew now.
Throwing the over gloves down, Caleb checked his phone for the time and perhaps also some reassurance that she hadn't cancelled on him. She hadn't... yet anyway. The lasagne would take about 40 minutes before he needed to heat it slightly to melt the cheese on top just right. He needed to make sure he was gonna be doing it right. Caleb headed into the bathroom and left open the door so he could see the kitchen enough to know if it was gonna be burning down. Stripping off his clothes, he climbed into the shower and scrubbed himself with the soap, his eyes roaming over the various girly stuff that Sav had left in there. No, don't worry, he wasn't going to use any of it. The last thing he needed was to smell like a girl when Winnie turned up. Embarrassment 101. Sticking with the soap, Caleb washed and then climbed out and wrapping a towel around his waist, had a quick check out of the room to make sure the rest of the apartment was still standing. Perhaps he wouldn't mention this little part to either Mason or Sav. They'd never leave him in here alone again. Luckily though, the place was perfectly fine. Turning to the mirror, Caleb shaved carefully before heading into his small room. The guitarist didn't mind that his room was the smaller of the two... Sav and Mason were two of him so it made sense for them to have the bigger one. He liked the cosiness though. Even if secretly, Caleb wondered when it would be time for him to move out and let his two best friends have their own place. Probably pretty soon the more he thought about it. That was, if Mason let him leave. He'd practically bitten his head off last time Caleb had mentioned it. Opening his closet, Caleb looked at the clothes. Was this supposed to be formal... or casual? Nope... it couldn't be casual. This was a big night and he wanted to get it right.
Caleb settled for a smart button up shirt and a nice pair of deep blue jeans. It was a mixture of smart and casual would at least not make him feel uncomfortable. Using the towel after pulling his clothes on, Caleb rubbed his hair which took all of about two minutes to style into a spiky mess at the back. He really couldn't do that much with it. They'd tried dying it one before and he had lifted his head... only to find it still jet black. God forbid if he had any kids that they got his hair. Caleb always joked about how it went not so perfectly with his pale skin. Throwing the towel into the washing basket... something Caleb had no issues with cleaning except... you know, when Mason left his underwear in there. He didn't complain of course but it wasn't the most pleasant thing he ever had to do. Maybe that should be another reason for him to move out, haha. Shaking his head at the thought, Caleb smoothed down the shirt in the full length mirror of his closet and smiled a little. It was the best he could do anyway. Shutting it carefully, Caleb checked his phone again and noticed he still had about 5 minutes before he would need to change the setting on the oven. Heading back out, Caleb set their table and reached across to the kitchen to grab two win glasses to put them on the table. He'd managed to get one of the guys at the recording studio to snag him some good quality wine for tonight. Caleb really needed this to be the most perfect thing. At least he could say he had good food if she says no to him. Smoothing the table cloth, Caleb smiled at it and adjusted the position of the the knife on her side even though it was pretty much perfectly placed already. Another check on the time, Caleb checked the oven and lowered the temperature whilst pulling back the tin foil on top so it would brown nicely.
The smell had poured out of the over when he opened the door, and even Caleb who had cooked his famous lasagne before smiled at the heavenly smell of it. If Winter didn't turn up, he would eat it all up himself haha. Licking his lips involuntarily, Caleb mouth dropped open slightly when he saw the smoke heading to the smoke alarm. It was mega sensitive one and since he didn't really want the whole fire brigade turning up, Caleb stood quickly and opened the top window to let the smoke head that way instead. "Phew." Caleb smiled at a crisis diverted and shut the oven door with his foot. Another smooth down of his shirt before he stopped still at a faint knock on the door. It was the right turn for Winter to turn up so smiling at the fact she'd shown up. Caleb gave one last glance to the clean room before swinging open the door to give Winter a big smile. "Hey, Winnie!" Caleb smiled enthusiastically before he finally noticed what she wearing. Wow. It was simple but effective. "You look lovely!" Caleb said happily and leant forward to give her a hug. Letting her in and shutting the door slowly behind her, Caleb smiled. "I hope you're prepared for the best damn lasagne you've ever tasted!" Lame, Caleb, oh so lame. He wanted to slap his forehead... something he found himself wanting to do a lot around Winter. He was just always trying to impress her was the reason he went for. Not because he was a dork. No. Not at all. In a way directing her into the dining area, Caleb pulled back the seat for her and as a gentleman would do, pushed it under her for when she sat. "I managed to get some nice wine for us." Yes, Caleb didn't drink really but wine wasn't too bad and he wouldn't be having much. Just one glass over his food. Pouring some into her glass, Caleb took a seat himself and smiled at Winter. He really hoped she didn't feel awkward. He never seemed to around her cos he had a million things he felt like he could say, but that might be a bit much. In truth, it was the first test to see if she had expected this to be like... well, sort of like a date. If not, then Caleb would let her leave now if she felt way too uncomfortable about it. But God... did she look absolutely stunning.

Winter lay in her bed, staring up at the ceiling. She was anxious as all hell. However, she still had a large chunk of time before she went over to Caleb's apartment. She had already cleaned her and Noah's place this morning because she had woken up so early. So their apartment was spotless. Not to mention she had already got dinner ready for Noah. If she hadn't, he would have ordered take out and they were eating too much of that as it was. So since she had all of that done, she was waiting. She hated waiting. Especially right now because she was nervous on top of it. She was going over to Caleb's and he was cooking her dinner. He had made the offer what seemed ages ago and had brought it up when they had gone out to eat not to long ago. She had had so much fun at dinner with him when they had gone. She felt comfortable and relaxed. Not to mention they had been laughing the whole night. They seemed to get along so well and Win found herself feeling something she did not think she had ever felt before. Her stomach did flip flops any time she thought of him and she had been smiley for days. Her best friend had hit the nail on the head. Noah had pointed out that maybe Winter actually liked someone for once. It was true. Win liked Caleb. She didn't want to just hop in the sack with him and move on and be friends like she did with a whole bunch of other guys. No. Winter had feelings for Caleb.
Sighing and giving into her anxiety, she pushed herself out of bed and made her way to the bathroom. She showered quickly even though she tried to take a little longer to simply waste the extra time she had. She used her favorite smelling body wash and shampoo and conditioner. She wanted to smell good for him. Wrapping a towel around herself and stepping out of the hot water, she brushed her teeth in the sink. She smiled into the mirror to make sure her teeth looked white and there wasn't anything stuck in them from breakfast earlier that day. Nodding in satisfaction, she opened the bathroom door and some steam followed her into her own room where she went to her closet. What the hell was she going to wear? Was she supposed to dress up? Was this a date? Yes. It was. Her stomach flipped again. So what should she wear? A skirt? A dress? No. That was too much. She pulled out a cute looking tank top and slipped it on, lifting her damp hair out from the back of it. She then pulled on a pair of black skinny jeans. She didn't look at herself yet but went straight into drying her hair. She didn't want all the excess water to dampen and stretch out or wrinkle the back of her shirt. She wanted to look nice for Caleb, she really did.
Now that her hair was dry, she slipped on the grey heel boots that she was going to wear with the outfit. She went out of her room and went to Noah's room, knocking on the door and pausing a second before she went in. "Noah. Does this look okay? Or should I wear something else? What should I do with my hair? Curl it or straighten it or what? Help me." She pouted slightly, feeling a bit frustrated. She was just unsure. She never really liked anyone and so she wanted to impress Caleb. She looked at Noah, waiting for an answer. He replied with a wink, "Well it looked better off." She rolled her eyes at him, not surprised by his answer at all. "It looks good love." He told her seriously this time before commenting on her hair question. "You can curl it? How?" Winter gave him a dumbfounded look before playfully saying, "I hate you." and walking back into her room. She decided to keep it straight but have a few loopy curls more toward the ends. She put her make up on and looked to the clock. Shit. How was she behind now? She thought she had had a lot more time.
Winter yelled goodbye to Noah before looking over herself once more, grabbing her keys and phone and heading out. The drive to Caleb's wasn't long, but it seemed to take forever. She was still so nervous. She was afraid she was going to say something that put him off and then he wouldn't want to talk to her anymore. She was still unsure on why he did want to talk to her at all. They had had fun when they went to dinner, but they were so different! Not that she minded. She just wasn't sure what was going through his mind. Hopefully him having her over tonight was a sign of a good thing though. She chewed on her bottom lip slightly before parking and making her way to his door. She took a deep breath to steady herself and knocked almost softly. Once again, the wait seemed to take ages. Of course it was only a few seconds, if that, but still her mind was racing. The door opened and she couldn't help but smile as he smile and greeted her. "Hi Calebbaby!" She said in her normal way before hugging him back. She couldn't help but notice he looked so handsome and he smelled good as well. She was glad that she had chosen to dress a little bit nicer now that she saw that he was dressed up a bit as well.
Following him inside, she laughed lightly at his comment about being prepared for the best lasagna ever. "I hope I am too! I think I need to prepare more for if it happens to be better than my Nana's because breaking it to her won't be pretty!" She teased, laughing again. She couldn't help but keep smiling. It seemed to be all she could do when she was around him. She sat down as he pulled out the chair for her. "Why thank you sir." She said with a small wink. He really was adorable. He was such a gentleman and in a way she didn't know how to take it. No guy had ever been this way before. Winter really liked it though. She looked at the step up of everything as Caleb poured them both a glass of wine. Everything looked so perfect and wonderful. He really had taken his time on it all, she could tell. She only wished she could read his mind to see what he was thinking, see what he thought about being here with her. Then it might make things easier. Then maybe she wouldn't be so nervous about screwing something up. What if she spilt the wine all over herself like an idiot? What if she dropped food in her lap? She had never worried about such tiny details before, but everything was popping into her head all at once.
Winter's brown eyes found Caleb's as he sat across from her. "This is really sweet, Caleb." She said to him with a smile and her cheeks turned a very light pink color. She probably sounded like an idiot. It was the truth though. She really hadn't ever been on a date before him. That part of the night was always skipped and straight to the bedroom or car or where ever they were doing it they went. She wasn't ashamed of it. Not by any means. She didn't regret anything she did and she loved how she lived. She was carefree for the most part. She only wished she had gone on a date before really so she knew how things worked a little better. Maybe then she would know how to act. For now she figured she would just be herself. It was the only thing she knew and if it didn't work in this situation, well, then she would figure something out. "Thanks for having me over and doing this and stuff. I wish I could have helped cook or something though." She told him with a small laugh. Like said, she always did things for herself and Noah so she wasn't used to having things done for her. It really was nice though.

TAKE A BREATH TAKE IT DEEP CALM YOURSELF HE SAYS TO ME IF YOU PLAY YOU PLAY FOR KEEPS TAKE THE GUN AND COUNT TO THREE • • •& i'm sweating now moving slow no time to think my turn to go AND YOU CAN SEE MY HEART BEATING YOU CAN SEE IT THROUGH MY CHEST Caleb smiled as he saw Winter in the door and leaned in to give her a big hug. At the way they were positioned, Caleb's face was near her neck and her aroma sifted into his nose and made him smile against her neck. She really was too fantastic. Letting her into the apartment, Caleb made the dreaded comment about the lasagne but his smile only got wider as she replied positively, at least he dodged that one. Why was he so nervous? Oh, yeah. Because he never really did this. Or rather, Caleb hadn't done this in a long, long time. Once his heart had been broken when he was young, Caleb hadn't really dated anyone... other then a few random kisses which didn't mean anything and came largely because the other person had been drunk. Caleb wasn't asexual by any means, it was simply that he wasn't that type of guy. Neither was he the kind of guy to judge anyone on their behaviour, particularly Winter. It was no secret as to what she had gotten up to previously, but that her decision and if she had fun doing it with no regrets then there was no problem, right? "Maybe you shouldn't mention it to her, then?"
[/b] Caleb suggested lightly, but jokingly. Pushing the chair underneath her and laughing a little at her formality, Caleb did a small bow and strange wave of the hand again as a joke. It was just normal manners that he'd been brought up with. Sure, his mother was extremely eccentric and often made the news for using direct action of some form to gain more rights for people. Her recent stunt had included hanging a rainbow flag out of the window of the town hall. Good times. It was probably where Caleb got his extremely laid back and liberal views, apart from when he was taking part in peace protests of course. Even then, his mother would be present. She would love Winter, he just knew it. Yes, Caleb had done his best to make the place look as good as possible. He'd done some extra cleaning in the living area and obviously the set up of the place meant it was visible from most of the room, including the seating area. Their chairs and table weren't anything spectacular which really explained the new table cloth covering any stains that had been left on from past food or whatever. Winter didn't have to know that though. Caleb had to hold the wine bottle with both hands as he poured it to make sure he didn't go and pour it all over her from shaking so much. He was nervous as hell now that she was here. At least she hadn't left yet which was a plus, right? It was obvious with the wine and what not that it was date and she was still here. Caleb sat back in his seat and smiled happily at her across the table. Sure, he was nervous, but it wasn't by anything Winter was doing. She was perfect... and made Caleb feel all that more at ease, especially when their brown eyes connected over the table. He didn't really take note of her blush, mainly because his own cheeks were threatening to turn pink as well. Why had he fallen so hard for her? What was different? Tilting his head ever so slightly, Caleb shrugged and took a sip of his drink before speaking with a small lick of his thick lips. "That's alright, Winnie." He smiled happily as he looked at her. "I love cooking. My mom used to cook home made meals for me... and normally Mason too all the time when I lived there." Letting out a small laugh, it was too true. Mason had practically lived at Caleb's house when they were still at home. His mother loved Caleb's best friend... pretty much like her own son. It was kinda cute he supposed, and it made his mother happy so that's what mattered. He didn't know his father so it was a case of if his mother was happy, Caleb was happy which was a main reason he tried every damn day to make her proud. Another reason he thought she would love Winter. Putting his glass down slowly to make sure it didn't spill everywhere, Caleb pushed his chair out. "God, I forgot about the food." Grinning and checking the time, he smiled at Winter. "Food time!" Standing up, he paused next to her. "I won't be a second. Just grabbing the foooood." Caleb mentioned happily before strolling casually toward the kitchen. Once out of view, Caleb darted to the oven to get the food out and pray that it wasn't burnt. Opening the door, Caleb smirked when it looked the perfect brown colour. Someone was looking out for him up there anyway. Grabbing the oven gloves, Caleb pulled the plate out and let the gorgeous smell fill his nostrils. It was always the best bit of cooking; being able to appreciate the final thing. Often, that was all he could do. If it was a sweet product, Caleb couldn't always eat it after all sugar didn't fit very well with him... it pretty much made him seem drunk with hyperactivity. Resting the plate on the table top, Caleb grabbed a chopping board that could sit underneath it so the table wouldn't get burnt as he carried it through to where Winter was. "It came out good!" Caleb exclaimed with a happy grin and settled the plate in the middle of the table. A thought struck him and he turned his head to look at her, "Oh. Did I even ask you if you eat lasagne? If you don't it's totally fine. Just... yeah." He blushed a little and laughed before taking his seat again and pushing the knife and serving utensil toward her. "Here you go. You can cut it if you'd like. It's the moment of truth." Caleb's dark eyes didn't move from looking at Winter, a small smile on his face. How did he deserve to be able to cook for such a pretty lady... regardless of what her answer would be after they ate and he asked her, at least he'd made a fantastic friend out of it. It'd be nice for something more with her though... it was clear now that his feelings were pretty certain. It was just whether she would want to return it and not out of pity either. He wanted it all, he really wanted Winter with her personality and everything. It was just a case of telling her that he was serious about it. Knocking at Caleb's apartment door, Winter checked her phone quickly. She was simply making sure Caleb hadn't texted her and told her he had changed his mind about meeting up with her tonight. Boy would that be embarrassing as she was already here. But, thankfully, there was no text. She let out a sigh of relief, smiling as Caleb opened the door and greated her. She greeted him back while being pulled into a hug. Her smile grew as she took in all of him, breathing in his wonderful scent. It was strange to her, but she felt so safe in his hug. It was as if she never wanted him to let go. This was all so new to her but she said nothing. She didn't want to make a comment that made her sound like an idiot. Normally she could care less what people thought about her unless it came to them calling her names she did not appreciate. But even then she got over it quickly. However, she wanted Caleb to think good things of her. She didn't want to say or do something that made her look bad, yet she still would try her hardest to be herself even though she was nervous as all hell. She laughed lightly as his comment about not mentioning to her Grandmother that his lasagna was better. "Good idea." She said with a nod and sat down. Once again, she laughed at his small bow that he performed. She had worried how this night would turn out but it was already going smoothly. Nothing felt forced or awkward or anything. It simply felt right.
Taking a quick look around, everything seemed so neat and clean and set up so perfectly. She had been here a couple times before with Sav as they were good friends. It hadn't been messy or anything, but Win could tell that Caleb had taken the time to clean up and make things look nice for the occasion. It only made her smile more. It was nice to know that someone wanted to take the time and do things for her. Of course, she felt the same way with him. Winter wanted to do something nice for Caleb which was why she felt slightly bad about him not letting her help with anything. Maybe she would be able to talk him into letting her take him out for dessert again after they ate. When they had gone to dinner the first time, she had wanted to pay as a thank you for him taking care of her while she was drunk and a mess. However, he had gotten to the check first and paid for the meal. After that, Winter insisted on buying dessert. Half was because she wanted to do something nice for him and half because she hadn't wanted their outting to end yet. It had been prolonged with ice cream and more talking and laughter. She hoped she could do the same with tonight. She liked being around Caleb. She smiled as Caleb explained that his mother used to cook for him and how he loved cooking. It was cute that it seemed he got along well with his mother. Winter and her mother was a whole nother story.
Win nodded and smiled as Caleb declared he was going to get the food. She mentally scowled because now she had nothing to quickly take her mind off her mother. Unlike Caleb and his mom, Winter and hers did not see eye to eye. She wasn't perfect like her older sister and younger brother and it ripped her mother apart, Winter could tell. Win did love her mom, but she wasn't about to change who she was or how she acted just to please the woman. She knew her mother would love Caleb though. He was a sweet boy, a gentleman. Not like she needed her mother's approval, but still. Winnie's thoughts were thankfully interrupted when a wonderful smell hit her nose and Caleb stepped back into view. She smiled and shook her head as he asked about her liking lasagna or not. "No no. It's one of my favorites. Don't worry." Even if she didn't like it Winter would have preteneded to. Caleb seemed really excited for it and it in turn made her excited for it as well. Caleb passed the knife to her and she picked it up and let it sink into the meal easily. She smiled as more of the smell hit her nose and she cut a piece out, placing it on Caleb's plate, "One for you and the rest for me!" Winnie teased, pretending the rest of the lasagna was for her. She laughed and sent a wink his way before cutting herself a piece as well.
Taking her fork and getting a bite of the meal, she placed it in her mouth and took in the flavor of it. Her eyes sparkled and she smiled as she chewed and swallowed. "My God Caleb! This is amazing!" She took a sip of her wine and licked her lips absentmindedly. "I mean I was going to joke around and pretend it was awful, but I can't because it's too good to even pretend!" She laughed. She ran a hand through her hair to get some loose strands away from her face. She looked across the table and their brown eyes connected. She felt herself blush slightly and her smile stayed as she looked down to try to hide her blush. Why she was so giddy and happy was beyond her. She had honestly never felt this way before and Caleb just made her feel so good. She wasn't sure how he felt and it kind of worried her. She had promised herself never to let a guy in and be able to effect her in anyway. How Caleb had pushed past her walls, she wasn't sure. She only knew it could be bad for her if he didn't feel how she did and she was hurt in the end. She prayed that wouldn't be the case though.

TAKE A BREATH TAKE IT DEEP CALM YOURSELF HE SAYS TO ME IF YOU PLAY YOU PLAY FOR KEEPS TAKE THE GUN AND COUNT TO THREE • • •& i'm sweating now moving slow no time to think my turn to go AND YOU CAN SEE MY HEART BEATING YOU CAN SEE IT THROUGH MY CHEST Caleb asked Winter in a round about way if she actually liked lasange because, it really should have been his first question. Sure, Winnie had mentioned her relative cooking it but still, that might have been out of politeness. Smiling at the confirmation that she did actually like the pasta dish, that made Caleb happy. One of her favourites too? Score. There was someone definitely looking out for him up in the sky then. Pushing the plate more into the middle of the table so it didn't fall off the edge as if he'd jinxed it, Caleb gave Winter the serving spoons and fork. He watched as she cut into the meal with a smile. He looked at her rather then at what she was doing because she looked so perfect, especially with a big smile taking up her face. He was glad he had gone some way in putting that there, and the thought of how he'd love to do it even more in the future still seeped into his mind. There had been a couple of girls Caleb had talked to who he wanted to actually create a relationship with but this was an entirely different thing. He wanted to impress her for more reasons then just the standards ones of cooking her a meal to make him seem more homely. No, he wanted to cook for her so he could put that exact smile on her face and spend time with Winter whilst he was doing that. His eyes only dropped when a piece of the lasagne was put onto his plate, and he looked at the steaming pasta strips. Caleb laughed honestly at her comment at keeping the whole thing. The same thought had passed into his mind earlier when it had been cooking after all. "Ha! I've already debated just keeping it for myself and ordering something in..." Caleb gave her a wink to show he was just joking. The food did smell nice and it was going just perfectly so far. He hadn't dropped the whole dish on top of her which was always a positive view of things.
Taking a sip of his red wine from it's class, Caleb cut into the lasagne straight after that and took a big bite from his fork. Mmm. It was tasting pretty good too. Maybe he did need to go say thanks to God sometime soon if this was how he was going to be treated tonight. Everything going smoothly was great, as long as it wasn't just to soften the blow of Winter's answer. The question was weighing on his mind and on every thought he was having. Caleb laughed lightly again at her exclamation and nodded in humble agreement. "Old family recipe's always do the trick" He smirked and shook his head slightly before having another big bite of the food. Listening to Winter's next words, Caleb grinned and shook his head again. "Maybe that's a good thing then! I would have died a little inside if you'd said something like that..." Not that he was trying to impress her. No. Of course not. Well. Maybe. Yes he was. Looking up, Caleb and Winter's eyes connected and this time, for some reason, he didn't blush like she did a little but rather a small smile made its way onto his face. The first date jitters had died down and he was pretty content to just enjoy her company for what it was. Excellent. He'd had one of the best nights of his life when they went to dinner the other day and although he'd felt a bit bad at how she had bought them dessert after he had every intention to pay for everything, Caleb was completely at ease with her. It wasn't often he could say that he was like that with the fairer sex, only with Savannah and his mother really. Caleb was always nice to women, he was just simply never able to have connections like those ones. Taking a small sip of his drink to help wash the pasta down and clear his throat a bit, the two of them continued to talk over various things. It was surprising really because no matter how much other people said they didn't have anything in common, they really actually did. Music was obviously the main thing but the smaller and well hidden things like tv shows and comedians came up and Caleb could find himself talking fluently to her, as well as laughing pretty hard at other things. He'd even thrown in one imitation of one of those comedians but had cracked up at the end of it with almost tears in his eyes. It was all just so carefree.
Finishing off his food eventually, he made sure Winter's plate was finished and clear for a few minutes. There was no great rush after all and they had plenty to talk about so it didn't matter. "I'll just throw these plates in the washer. If you gimme a sec..." Caleb smiled and stood slowly, rubbing his full stomach. They'd finished off the lasagne because thankfully, it had turned out to be the best one he'd ever made. Admittedly he'd taken forever preparing everything from scratch but it seemed to have worked, at least considering it was all gone. Stacking her plate on top of his, Caleb lifted them onto his arm and grabbed the empty pasta dish. "My mom owns a restaurant." Caleb said by way of explanation. "I had to earn my spends somehow." Laughing a little, Caleb carried the plates into the kitchen and dumped them in the washer which he could sort out later. Sometimes it made a hell of a noise and he wasn't having that. Not now and ruin the good atmosphere they had going. Heading back, Caleb placed the wine bottle onto the table for her to fill up her glass whenever she wanted. Settling into his seat again, they talked a little while longer but Caleb was starting to get a little less animated when he was speaking, the question weighing even more on his mind now then it had before. Licking his lips, he adjusted his seating and realised that his fidgeting was probably going to eventually make Winter uncomfortable herself so he stopped and gave her a heart warming smile that he well and truly meant. Taking another sip of his drink, Caleb leaned forward ever so slightly and opened his mouth to speak but stopped himself. Why was this so difficult? He knew it would be from as soon as he had made the decision but he wanted to get this right. Wording was key at this point. Moving his hand across, Caleb took Winter's hand in his own and gave her a small smile. God, how he hoped she didn't say no. "Winter..." One swipe of his lips with his tongue and Caleb continued, it was truly give it all, "You're easily the most beautiful woman I have ever seen in my entire life," Caleb let that sink in for a moment and his gaze dropped nervously but he forced himself to look back up and into her brown eyes, "I've had the best time of my life every time I've been with you and, well, I'd really like to do it even more with you in the future. Except," Caleb paused for a second and his eyes switched between hers, "I want to be able to do it whilst holding your hand, being able to buy you dinner" he quirked an eyebrow lightly at that, he meant without her feeling she needed to buy dessert, "and being able to say, that you are with me." Chewing his bottom lip, Caleb's heart clenched at the closeness at hearing her answer, "It would mean the actual world to me if I was able to say that you're my beautiful girlfriend." Caleb finished with a small happy but nervous smile. It was the moment of truth.

Winter couldn't help but laugh as Caleb mentioned about keeping the lasagna to himself and ordering something in. It reminded her of Noah slightly. They were always ordering something to eat. Either that or she was cooking something for the two of them. What he would do without her, she wasn't sure. He would either starve, or the apartment would be full of take out containers and pizza boxes. If they didn't make the money they did from shows and tour and such, they would be dirt poor from all the food they ate. Luckily they didn't have that problem. That and Win's mom put sympathy money on a card for her. She wanted to buy her love or something of that nature. The money mainly went to food and clothes. That and Win had just bought a puppy with it. Bamf really was the cutest thing. Her thoughts went back on track to where she was when she took a bite of the lasagna Caleb had prepared for the two of them. It really was delicious and it beat her grandmother's by a long shot. He really was a good cook and she was glad she didn't have to pretend to like it. That was why Noah never cooked anything but pizza. His cooking wasn't the best thing around. It was nice though that for once someone else had cooked for her. And it was even nicer that it was one of the best things she had ever eaten.
Their eyes connected and even though she blushed slightly, she felt comfortable and relaxed. In a way, she hadn't felt so content in a long time. She never had a problem being herself and at ease around anyone, especially a guy, but with Caleb it was simply taken to the next level. It was one of those feelings where she felt as if she was in the exact right place at the exact right time. It was like there was nothing else she needed to be doing, no where else she needed to be. She always had random thoughts running through her head of what she would do when she got home or the next day, but not now. She didn't, couldn't, even think about anything else other than where she was at the moment. She had been nervous about coming here and being with him but the more and more they talked, the more and more she felt at home. Her friends hadn't helped with her nervousness. They had all said the two had nothing in common and even Noah had been surprised when she told him that they hadn't slept together but still had a wonderful time. Just because she liked sex a lot and had sex a lot, didn't mean she did with every guy she hung out with. Okay, well almost every guy. But Caleb was different. She didn't want to jump into that and possible ruin things. She liked sitting here and talking with him over dinner. No thoughts of sex even crossed her mind as they talked about tv and comedians.
Winter wiped away tears from laughing as Caleb immitated a comedian. He really was something. She had always hit on him before, flirting and touching maybe when she shouldn't have. He had been on the shyer side though, blushing and basically shutting her advances down. It hadn't bothered her, but it had made her keep trying of course. It had all led to this because well, when she had been drunk off her ass she had kissed Caleb. He had taken care of her and made sure she was okay which made her want to thank him with dinner. Of course, he had ended up paying for it and then her dessert and then here they were now. She was glad it worked out this way now though. They finished the meal and she hadn't even noticed until Caleb mentioned about cleaning up a little. Their talking had distracted her completely from the food but she nodded with a smile and watched as he picked everything up at once and dissappeared into the kitchen. He came back and set the wine on the table. Her glass was still half full so she didn't pour herself anymore just yet. They continued to talk, but Caleb seemed less talkative and seemed more fidgity. She bit the inside of her lip, chewing it a little nervously now. Was he bored of the night? Had she said something that had set him back? Maybe the more they talked the more he realized how different they were and how he really didn't have any interest in her? Now a million worried thoughts ran through her mind.
However, her thoughts seemed to subside as Caleb smiled at her and she melted inside a little bit. Winnie's head tilted to the side slightly when Caleb opened his mouth to speak but said nothing. Maybe he wanted her to leave but just didn't know how to say it? She chewed on the inside of her lip a little more before taking a sip of her wine. As she set her glass back down, Caleb took her hand in his own and began to finally say something. His comment made her blush more than she had earlier. She was positive that no one had ever called her beautiful in her life. Not an exaggeration either. She had been called hot and sexy for sure, but never beautiful. Let alone the most beautiful girl someone had ever seen. She was literally speechless and couldn't help but smile and listen as Caleb went on. He told her he had a very good time with her and wanted to do it more with her. Oh good. So he didn't want her to leave. That was a relief in itself. He went on and her stomach flipped with his words. Was this going where she thought it was going? Then he said it.
He wanted her to be his girlfriend. Wait what? Caleb wanted Winter to be his girlfriend? He had really just asked her that? Her heart was pounding in her chest. Her eyes sparkled and she couldn't help but smile again. She had never been someone's girlfriend before. Yet right now she found she wanted to be Caleb's more than anything. "Oh wow.. of course I'll be your girlfriend, Caleb!" She said as she nodded her head and smiled. Careful not to knock anything on the table over, she stood slightly and leaned over so their lips could touch lightly and briefly. She pulled back away and sat back down fully. She was all smiles. She couldn't help it. "Are you sure you want me as your girlfriend though? I mean, I've never really been someone's girlfriend and I just don't want to like.. dissapoint you or anything. You know?" She said a bit nervously. It was true. She knew how relationships worked, sure. There was no cheating, lying, all that stuff. She knew the rules. She just had never been in one before. What if she messed everything up somehow? She really didn't want to. She honestly really liked Caleb. More than she had ever liked anyone in her life.
