savannah fae murray
so, let's start off with the basics. what's your name?“Well, My full name is Savannah Fae Murray, but usually people call me Sav, or Anna. Mason usually calls me Savvie. People try to be funny and call me Santa Fe, as apparently Savannah Fae sounds like it? haha, whatever though.
oh, it's a nice name! now, would you mind telling us how old you are?“I’ll turn twenty one on September 14th. “
really? you look much younger! well, let's get started. first off, what are you on this tour?”Do I? I don’t think I do! Well, I’m in a little band called Violet Sunday, you might have heard of us? I play the piano and do vocals along with Mason.”
oh! so how did you first get involved with batteries not included records?“Well, We had really just started the band, and we lucked into a gig at Spaceland. So the guys and I started advertising like crazy. I really cant tell you how many fliers I stuck up around L.A., way over a thousand at least. So then apparently a talent scout from Batteries Not Included records saw one and decided to come check us out. The rest is history as you know.”
oh gosh, really? all right, so, how are you enjoying it so far?“Oh man, I love it! I get to do what I want for a living, with people I like, and I get paid for it? It’s the best thing ever!”
that's great! so, what do you do in your free time when you are not working?“Well, I play around on the piano, go running around through random stores, spend time with just Mason, as even though we’re in a band together, we don’t get a lot of time to ourselves, other than that I like to lay around the apartment and read, or the tour bus if we are on tour.”
oh, i love some of those too! looks like we have alot in common.“Really, you like hanging out with Mason and reading on our tour bus? That’s a little strange man.”
so, how has your romantic past been?“ Well I haven’t had anything too serious, you know? I had a few boyfriends in New York, nothing that ever made it past a couple months, then I came to stay with my father over the summer here in L.A., and I met Mason, I’ll tell you all about that later. But we had a summer long thing. I really wouldn’t call it a relationship, more of a fling, but it was the best summer I’ve ever had. But then I went back to New York, dated a few more guys.”
and what about now? is that any better? any different?“Much different. I am actually dating Mason and I couldn’t be happier. Pshaw, haha, I sound like some person off of one of those sappy movies that make me want to barf. Haha”
oh, i see.. hmm... and, what would you say are your turn ons? do you have any turn offs?“Hmmm. I like a guy who can take a joke, that’s almost a must with me, Good looks is appricated, but not necessarily required. If you can dish as much crap as I can, I’ll probably fall in love with you. He would have to be able to have a good time, but I don’t think I would mind he if wasn’t as crazy as me. Some times having a calming factor in your life is a good thing, you know? Turn offs would be guys who are complete jerks, I’m sorry, you aren’t going to treat me like shit and expect me to be legit with it.”
ooh, that's understandable, mhm. so, give us a bit of detail about yourself.“Well, basically I love the spotlight. Apparently I always have from a small age. Like, its pretty much a legit thing. My mom has videos of me running around screaming random Disney movie songs at the top of my lungs. When we would have guest over, apparently I would set up a stage, and make everyone watch me perform. But yea, I love being in the center of attention. I’ll be goofy and crazy. Its nothing to see me running around places acting like a fool. I mean, I do have a bit of a wild side. Back in New York, I was know for sneaking out of the apartment to go to all night raves. I even helped sneak friends out of the house. Its pretty easy to assume I used to get grounded a lot. I guess I have grown up a bit, but I still party some. I am pretty spontaneous. I am all the time saying or doing things without thinking about it first. If I am bored, I will suddenly jump up and decide to prank someone, or fake a heart attack in Wal-Mart or whatever.
mhmm. well you sound like a fun young woman. now, is there anything about your past?Well thank you? Haha. Well, I was born to Sara and Simon on September 13th in a small hospital outside of Jersey. When I was five we moved to New York, and when I was ten my parents got a divorce. It wasn’t anything ugly, they just decided that they weren’t in love anymore, and parted way friends. Its pretty crazy as most divorces end ugly. They gave me a choice on where I wanted to go, and I decided to stay with my mom, rather than move across the country with my dad. When I was fifteen I started spending every summer with my father, and that’s when I met Mason. Actually, it was the summer I was sixteen, a year after I first visited my dad rather than making him visit me. He held a dinner party for a few people he worked with and their families, and that’s when I met Mason. I guess we just really clicked, because Mason volunteered to show me around L.A. while my dad worked. We had a blast, and agreed to hang out again the next day, and then the next day, and so forth. I guess you could say we kind of dated, but we never really said the words aloud. We had a blast all summer, and it kind of sucked to see it end, but it did, and I left to head back to New York. The next year I didn’t go back, because I spent it with my grandparents in Switzerland, so yea. After I graduated highschool, I decided to move to L.A. where Dad promised to rent me an apartment til I got a job. I figured if I was in L.A. I would stand a better chance at getting discovered as a music artist. That’s where I met [Insert the third person of Violet Sunday’s band here]. We hung out a bit and got to know each other. I told him about my dreams, and he said that he knew a person who wanted to form a band, and suggested that we get together sometime, So we did. I couldn’t help but notice how familiar the guy looked. We talked some, played some music, and agreed we sounded excellent. Afterwards, we all went out to Denny’s, and that’s where I connected it. It was Mason! So yea, haha, we had a good laugh, reminisced, and eventually got together. Ofcourse, this was after we had already established the band a little. So yea, then we played a show at Spaceland, got discovered, and here I am =].
ahh.. all right, so. tell me some of the things you like.I love bright colors and sunny days. I really do enjoy dressing in odd styles of clothing. Being Famous is pretty sweet too. Naturally I love my band Violet Sunday, and I love the boys <3. I enjoy drinking and parties occasionally, drawing on people with sharpies, taking pictures with random strangers and the color yellow. Bananas are pretty much my favorite fruit. I adore being completely random and yelling out random things at strangers loudly. Really, I like being loud in general. I like randomly dancing in the middle of the street and trying on other peoples glasses. Singing off key is pretty funny at times, as it makes Mason cringe, and I love meeting fans with an intense passion. Oh, interviews are legit too.
and what about dislikes?I am terrified of storms, don’t make fun! I don’t like people dismissing our band just because it is acoustic. I loathe having to do her college work [Yes, I am taking college Classes!], sleeping on that damn tour bus when we are on tour!, waiting in long lines for anything, tacos…seriously, they are disgusting, being hurt, physically or emotionally sucks majorily!, ass holes and people who just down on everything. Seriously, downers are not appreciated at all.
do you have any dirty little secrets you wanna share?” Hmmm….secrets….Well, I actually realized it was Mason a bit sooner than he realized it was me, but I was too terrified he wouldn’t remember me and I would look stupid to say anything then…good enough? It’s the best I got.”
ooh, that is deeeeeep. well this interview is almost done, do you have anything else you want to say?“Oh now, don’t poke fun at me! Its not nice! Haha. Ermmm…Nope that’s it!”
